FAMILY LITERACY INITIATIVE

What is the Family Literacy Initiative?
The Family Literacy Initiative is making a difference in economically challenged communities by empowering parents to be their children’s first teachers. Active in West Point, Caldwell, Duazon, and Neezoe, the initiative has reached 128 families with tailored training and support.

Transformation & Impact
From scribbling to letter knowledge, story sequencing to spelling names, children are progressing thanks to their parents’ dedication. Parents are gaining skills and confidence to guide their children’s learning journey.

Training & Support
Weekly training sessions and hands-on activities prepare home visitors to deliver the curriculum effectively. This training model ensures consistency and accessibility for all participants.

The Heart of the Initiative: Field Visits
Weekly visits help build trust, monitor progress, and mentor parents. This consistent support has been essential to the program’s success.

Expanding the Reach
Assessing 60 new families across the communities has helped the initiative expand its impact and continue making a positive difference.

Creating Lasting Change
By empowering parents and building stronger communities, the Family Literacy Initiative is creating lasting change.
