NURTURING CARE Program

NURTURING CARE

WE-CARE trains in-service teachers to become qualified early childhood and kindergarten teachers. After four years of piloting Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Early Childhood Education (ECE) in four public schools, WE-CARE secured a one-year contract with the Ministry of Education and the World Bank to train 700 teachers across six southeastern counties of Liberia (Grand Kru, River Gee, Maryland, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, and Bomi).

Expanding the Vision: Nurturing Care
Building on its successful pilot, WE-CARE has proposed integrating the Family Literacy Program (FLI) with ECD to create a unified initiative called "Nurturing Care." The proposal has been approved for a pilot phase, aiming to enhance the quality and accessibility of early childhood education while fostering a holistic approach to learning and family engagement.

Impact & Future Goals
Through this initiative, WE-CARE aims to cultivate a generation of confident, creative, and critically thinking young learners. By training teachers and engaging families, WE-CARE seeks to build a robust foundation for lifelong learning and community development across Liberia.
