CRITICAL THINKING - Liberia Program
WE-CARE collaborates with community colleges in Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, and the University of Liberia to upgrade the pedagogical skills of teachers, focusing on critical thinking, lesson planning, and delivery methods.
Impact & Reach
CT-L has partnered with ECOWAS Radio to broadcast "Beyond the Classroom," a 30-minute program aired every Thursday at 11:05 am. The program reaches most of Liberia’s counties and even neighboring countries, spreading valuable insights on education and critical thinking.
Training & Development
The RWCT model has been incorporated into schools across Liberia since 2008. It focuses on creating reflective, independent learners equipped with skills for personal and national decision-making. The model was adopted by the National Teachers Association in 2014 as a standard for lesson planning.
Collaborations & Broadcasts
WE-CARE, through CT-L, collaborates with four tertiary institutions and five media entities to expand critical thinking education. Community radio stations across Liberia also broadcast "Beyond the Classroom" every Saturday evening, ensuring widespread access to the program.
Ongoing Efforts
CT-L continues to work toward building a cadre of critical thinkers, ensuring that students are prepared for constructive citizenship and lifelong learning. Through training programs and media outreach, WE-CARE strives to empower educators and learners across Liberia.
